Job summary

Vector Talent Solutions seeks an experienced Quality Manager for an automotive manufacturing client. You will lead plant quality initiatives, drive data-driven improvements, manage quality systems, and collaborate with manufacturing and management to resolve concerns, meet customer expectations, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and related standards. This role requires hands-on leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Four-year degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with IATF 16949; knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 beneficial.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SAP or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain plant quality processes and systems to meet internal, customer, and industry requirements.
• Monitor product and process quality data, identify trends, implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to resolve issues involving design, specs, materials, tooling, and production processes.
• Coordinate customer complaints, corrective actions, salvage activities, and field-return issues with timely containment and resolution.
• Support IATF 16949 activities, customer audits, and other quality management system requirements.
• Manage department budget, resources, KPIs, and quality-related costs; identify improvements.
• Lead, coach, and develop quality team members; promote a safe, collaborative culture.

Position Overview

The Quality Manager will lead plant quality initiatives within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment, ensuring products and processes consistently meet customer and industry requirements. This position will oversee quality systems, monitor product and process performance, drive corrective actions, and work closely with manufacturing and management teams to resolve quality concerns. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who uses data-driven decision-making, effective communication, and continuous improvement to achieve quality and customer satisfaction goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain plant quality processes and systems to ensure products consistently meet internal, customer, and industry requirements.
• Monitor product and process quality data, identify trends and nonconformances, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner closely with manufacturing teams to resolve issues involving product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production processes.
• Coordinate customer complaints, corrective action requests, salvage activities, and field-return issues while ensuring timely containment and resolution.
• Support IATF 16949 activities, customer VDA audits, and other applicable quality management system requirements.
• Manage the department budget, resources, KPIs, and quality-related costs while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Lead, coach, and develop quality team members while promoting a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of job-related quality experience, preferably within an automotive manufacturing environment.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Four-year degree or comparable combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Experience with quality management systems and standards, particularly IATF 16949; knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; experience with SAP and other manufacturing or quality-related software preferred.
• Tier-1 automotive/transmission experience and cross-cultural experience preferred; ability to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts, and travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Compensation

($110,000- $115,000) Annually
