Job summary

Kondex Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee our Quality Management System and lead a team of quality professionals. You will develop and implement robust quality controls, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to meet customer requirements.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years of leadership in manufacturing quality, and strong knowledge of ISO 9001, APQP, GD&T, and CAPA processes.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Five+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment in quality/manufacturing operations roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Quality Management System and ensure ISO 9001 compliance.
• Provide leadership to Quality staff and develop their skills.
• Establish quality objectives and performance metrics aligned with strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products per NPD methodology.
• Develop robust process controls with Manufacturing Engineering and validate via process capability.
• Manage PPAP for all OEM customers.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to evaluate suppliers and incoming materials.
• Lead metrology services and ensure annual calibrations.
• Champion CAPA to address issues and prevent recurrence.
• Manage nonconforming material process and disposition.
• Budget management for department expenses and capital.
• Promote Continuous Improvement and Lean principles; minimal travel.

DescriptionThe Quality Manager at Kondex Corporation will oversee and manage Kondex's Quality Management System across the organization and work cross-functionally to ensure that our products meet or exceed the established quality standards of our customers. This position leads a team of quality professionals, develops and implements quality control processes, and continuously strives for improvement in both product quality and operational efficiency.

Position Accountabilities

• Responsible for the Quality Management System and its overall effectiveness supporting the Company's strategies while ensuring ISO 9001 compliance
• Provide leadership to the Quality staff and continually develop their skills, abilities, and professional growth
• Establish clear quality objectives and performance metrics that align with the organization's strategy & annual objective. Manage to deliver results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and deliver new products per the Kondex New Product Development Methodology that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering team to develop and document robust process controls for both new and existing manufacturing processes. Validate through demonstrated process capability
• Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for all OEM customers
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain organization to evaluate suppliers and ensure the quality of incoming materials and components leveraging PAPP's
• Lead the metrology services for the company. Ensure annual calibrations are achieved per schedule.
• Champion the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence
• Manage the nonconforming material process and corresponding disposition
• Manage department expenses and capital budget to plan
• Champion Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste throughout the Kondex value chain
• Minimal travel to suppliers, customers, conferences

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Five or more years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment in either a quality, manufacturing engineering, or manufacturing operations role
• Strong working knowledge and experience with ISO 9001, or equivalent
• Practitioner level experience with GD&T
• Strong working knowledge and experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles
• Experience with formal problem-solving methodologies such as 8D or Shainen Red X
• Experience with Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing principles
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Prefer ASQ Certified
• Prefer ISO Lead Auditor Certified
• Prefer experience with Zeiss CMM's and programming with Calypso software
• Highly desirable behavioral competencies include excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, customer focused, highly organized and able to multi-task, able to communicate clearly, strong problem solving and analytical skills, flexibility, stress management skills
