POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Manager at ADDMAN Advanced Metals – Statesville will serve as the site quality leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements including aerospace and defense standards.

The Quality Manager leads audit readiness and execution, oversees contract compliance, ensures effective quality process across the product lifecycle, and serves as the primary liaison between customer, suppliers, and internal teams for all quality-related matters. This role drives a culture of proactive quality, risk-based thinking, and continuous improvement across manufacturing, additive, machining, inspection, and supply chain operations.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as the site Quality SME ensuring alignment of customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of an integrated QMS, compliant with ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP requirements including:
    • Risk-based thinking and product safety
    • Configuration management and traceability
    • Counterfeit parts prevention
    • Customer flow-down compliance
    • Champion audit readiness and regulatory compliance including AS9100, ISO, NADCAP, and customer audits
  • Act as the primary Quality liaison with external auditors, registrars, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and evolve the Quality Manual, procedures, and controlled documentation.
  • Lead and manage all internal, customer, and third‑party audits from planning through closure.
  • Develop and execute risk‑based internal audit programs aligned to AS9100 requirements.
  • Ensure timely and effective closure of audit findings through structured RCCA methodologies.
  • Train and mentor internal auditors and cross‑functional audit participants.
  • Lead internal audit capability and compliance execution by training and mentoring auditors, driving a proactive audit‑readiness culture across the organization, conducting formal contract reviews, and interpreting purchase order quality clauses, aerospace specifications, and OEM requirements to ensure full alignment with customer, statutory, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for quality issues, escalations, and performance reviews.
  • Review and validate technical data packages including drawings, specifications, and digital product definitions.
  • Ensure proper interpretation of GD&T and dimensional requirements.
  • Oversee ballooned (bubble print) drawing creation and validation for inspection traceability and FAI readiness.
  • Support inspection planning, First Article Inspection, and quality data package development.
  • Ensure effective control and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering and Operations to embed quality requirements from design through delivery, while supporting production with robust inspection strategies, metrology oversight, and process validation to ensure product conformity and operational excellence.
  • Oversee supplier quality performance including audits, qualification, and corrective action management.
  • Interface with Supply Chain on supplier RCCA and quality escapes.
  • Ensure purchased materials and services meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs including COPQ, escapes, audit findings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned to cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Conduct management reviews input and provide executive‑level reporting on quality performance.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Generate quality reports summarizing trends, audit outcomes, RCCA effectiveness, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure proper documentation retention aligned with aerospace and regulatory standards.
  • Lead and develop the Quality team including Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and proactive quality engagement.
  • Provide direct leadership of Quality personnel (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) including hiring, training, performance management, and team development, while building a scalable quality organization aligned with business growth.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Develops, supports and helps maintain company’s quality management system.
  • Interprets and promotes company’s quality philosophy.
  • Facilitates and often leads required solutions to quality issues inside the company, with customers and with suppliers.
  • Facilitates development of consistent quality processes throughout company.
  • Maintains quality management system’s data and documents.
  • Communicates results and status of quality management and measurable objectives.
  • Coordinates quality training.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • 6–10+years of progressive experience in aerospace or high‑regulation manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership within AS9100‑certified organizations.
  • Strong experience in audit leadership including registrar and customer audits.
  • Proven experience conducting contract review and customer requirement flow‑down.
  • Deep understanding of AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001 standards; NADCAP exposure preferred.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle: design, manufacturing, inspection, and test.
  • Strong RCCA experience using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
  • Experience with nonconforming material control and MRB processes.
  • Familiarity with CMM inspection and metrology systems preferred.
The most qualified candidate will also possess the following
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001 standards
    • AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
    • GD&T
    • Bubble print/ballooned drawing methodology
    • Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience with QMS/ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality data analysis tools
  • Strong audit presence and executive‑level communication skills.
  • Date‑driven decision making and risk‑based thinking.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Based at the Statesville, North Carolina facility
