Job summary

American Aluminum Extrusion is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee our quality system, ensuring products meet specifications and customer requirements. The role leads QA/QC processes, audits, and supplier quality, with a focus on continuous improvement and data-driven decision making.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in manufacturing quality management, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor credentials, and strong leadership and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Three to five years in quality management in a manufacturing environment.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and ASQ CQM certifications preferred.
• Post-high school education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 9001 certification by ensuring QMS processes are implemented, monitored and improved; conduct internal audits and manage external audits.
• Establish and monitor quality objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals; develop, revise, and enforce quality policies, procedures, work instructions and control plans.
• Define, document, and optimize processes to ensure product conformity; integrate quality into all business processes; ensure compliance with customer requirements and profile tolerances.
• Evaluate and manage supplier quality performance; ensure incoming materials meet specifications.
• Respond to customer complaints, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and enhance quality systems.
• Train and mentor QA/QC staff on quality standards, ISO requirements, and best practices.
• Analyze quality data, prepare reports, and present findings to management.

Position Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for overall compliance with AAE’s quality system, including tools, work instructions, and inspections and to release only quality products meeting customer specifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• ISO 9001 Compliance: Maintain ISO 9001 certification by ensuring QMS processes are implemented, monitored and improved; conduct internal audits and manage external audits.

• Supplier Quality: Evaluate and manage supplier quality performance; ensure incoming materials meet specifications.
• Customer Focus: Respond to customer complaints, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and enhance quality systems.
• Team Leadership: Train and mentor QA/QC staff on quality standards, ISO requirements, and best practices.
• Data & Reporting: Analyze quality data, prepare reports, and present findings to the management team for decision-making.

Required Skills:

Experience Requirements:

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Working Environment:

• Comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift and move parts that weigh up to 50 pounds.
