Job summary

TEEMA seeks an experienced Quality Manager in Richmond, VA to lead QA initiatives across a manufacturing environment. You will champion ISO 9001, drive QMS compliance, and oversee corrective actions, audits, and supplier quality programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; IE/ME/Manufacturing preferred.
  • 7+ years of QA leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth ISO 9001 knowledge; other standards a plus.
  • Strong root-cause/problem-solving (8D/9S).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and support ISO certification for local operations and assist group certifications.
  • Support adherence to ISO 9001 document control and QMS compliance.
  • Implement and monitor QMS compliance per Group policies and regulatory standards.
  • Approve departmental procedures and manage corrective actions, NCRs, audits.
  • Lead supplier quality programs, PPAPs, and performance management with Group functions.
  • Collaborate on training for facility procedures, work instructions, and QSE requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate internal, third-party, and supplier audits.
  • Lead quarterly quality review meetings and KPI reporting to the Group.
  • Oversee QA lab activities and participate in trials and R&D projects.

Job description

Job Title: Quality Manager Job ID: 89652 Location: Richmond, Virginia

What you will be doing:
  • Establishment and support of local ISO certification / support of group ISO certification
  • Support adherence to ISO 9001 requirements for document control
  • Implementation and monitoring of QMS compliance following Group policies
  • Support adherence to all regulatory and certification standards
  • Understand, comply with, and improve established company policies and procedures
  • Implementation of quantitative data analysis related to quality
  • Approval of departmental procedures
  • Manage Corrective Action, NCR, process improvement, and auditing project implementation
  • Implement and maintain customer complaint and warranty case management following Group policies and procedures, and support problem-solving systems
  • Develop a robust Supplier Quality program through regular audits, PPAP utilization, and performance management in coordination with Group functions
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Managers on development and training for facility procedures, work instructions, and Quality & HSE requirements
  • Manage the calibration program for Manufacturing and Quality Lab Measuring and Test Equipment
  • Audit planning, coordination, and facilitation of all internal, third-party, and supplier audits
  • Lead quarterly Quality review meetings
  • Support all Quality-related KPI tracking and reporting to the Group
  • Oversight of QA lab activities
  • Support Trials and Research & Development projects
  • Some travel required (Canada and potentially overseas)
What you must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology preferred
  • 7+ years of QA leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • In-depth understanding of ISO 9001; knowledge of other management system standards is an advantage
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving experience (e.g., 8D/9S)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, with customers, suppliers, and external agencies
  • Strong presentation skills – able to clearly demonstrate concepts, findings, and recommendations to management, customers, and auditors
  • Strong computer skills: Excel, Minitab, Word, OneNote, Teams, Outlook
  • ASQ, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Lead Auditor Training certifications a plus; working knowledge of these methodologies required
  • Team leadership or management experience required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Works independently, takes initiative, and motivates others
  • Reacts well under pressure, follows through on commitments, and delivers results in a complex, changing environment
