Job summary

Signify is seeking a Quality Manager in Burlington, MA to formulate and implement long-term quality, regulatory, and compliance policy. You will enforce the QMS, manage global product compliance, and lead a team of 7–8 professionals across Advanced Quality and Compliance Engineering.

The role requires a BE in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7 years in quality roles in the lighting industry, strong leadership, and the ability to drive KPI improvements and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline and 7 years of experience in quality engineering in the lighting industry.
  • Experience with quality systems, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally.

This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Quality Manager in Burlington, Massachusetts with Signify to formulate and implement the business’ long-term quality, regulatory, and compliance policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce compliance to quality management system, develop and maintain quality processes, and support audits of the quality management system.
  • Manage compliance of products to regulatory requirements (related to safety, EMC, and the environment) from around the world to support global sales of products.
  • Lead handling of escalated field quality complaints (including internal and external communication) from around the world to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Make final decisions on quality-related topics. Respond to customer inquiries on quality-related topics.
  • Lead quality reporting and drive improvements in KPIs including Cost of Non-Quality, Field Failure Rates, zero hour return rates, Field Incidents, Complaint Resolution Time, customer NPS, Employee Engagement survey results, Delivery Reliability Metrics (DRM), and various advanced quality metrics related to FMEA action implementation, AQP maturity, etc.
  • Motivate and inspire members of the quality team and other teams to resolve existing issues, prevent future issues, and pursue continuous improvement in quality.
  • Motivate employees to perform at the highest level.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members on key aspects of Quality and new product development including Supplier Quality, Customer/Field Quality, Structured Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Advanced Quality, Risk Management, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, Validation testing, Quality Management Systems, ISO9001:2015, Compliance Engineering, New Product Development and Launch processes.
  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 7-8 direct reports (including one people manager managing additional employees) responsible for various aspects of product quality including: Advanced Quality, Compliance Engineering, and Field Quality Engineering.
  • Responsible for working closely with product development teams to ensure new and existing products meet all applicable safety, EMC, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify applicable standards, interpret them, and translate them into clear requirements for R&D engineers to follow as they develop new and improved products.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies (including UL and FCC) to achieve and maintain certification for new and existing products and work with other compliance engineers to achieve certifications for other regions, while serving as the overall compliance representative on the project teams for most new product development projects.
  • Responsible for Prediction of Reliability and Lifetime of Product based on the design parameters and test results after running simulation on reliability tools.
  • Provide guidance to design engineers, Test engineers team during new product development on robust Quality Tests Plans, Test Standard Operating Procedures, implementing lifetime prediction tools, Component Derating Guidelines, Voltage- Current Mapping.
  • Review new and existing Technical Standard Operating Procedures (TSOPs) and update as per project requirements.
  • He will ensure that customer and compliance requirements are incorporated into product functional specifications and support risk and failure analysis (DFMEA) using robust engineering tool to ensure functional specification requirements and severity are fully met.
  • Directly supervises 7-8 employees with the following job titles: Field Quality Manager ; Advanced Quality Engineer ; Validation Engineer; Quality Lab Engineer; Quality Lab Technician ; and Product Compliance Engineer.
  • 10% international and domestic travel required.

Salary: $182,350 - $228,012
