Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Quality Manager at our Indiana plant to lead QA and continuous improvement initiatives. You will ensure product conformance to customer specifications, maintain ISO 9001 certification, and drive Lean Six Sigma programs across the plant in partnership with Operations and Engineering.

The role requires hands-on leadership, data-driven decision making, and the ability to coach a quality team across shifts to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in QA techniques and CI methodologies, incl. Lean Six Sigma.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and talent development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with planning and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement programs to ensure ongoing product quality.

  • Manage and direct required testing across all processes.
  • Provide data-driven analysis of quality and operational performance to support plant goals.
  • Recruit and develop quality assurance associates to build capability and performance.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System and ISO 9001 certification, oversee external audits.
  • Interface with customers and regulatory inspectors during plant visits and audits.
  • Investigate field issues and nonconforming products using root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Position Summary:

Accountable to the Regional Quality Manager and Plant Manager, the Quality Manager position is responsible for managing, implementing, and facilitating Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement programs within the plant. In this function, the Quality Manager ensures that all products produced and shipped conform to the applicable specifications and quality levels established by Prysmian and the customer. As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, the Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the plant meets its stated business objectives through effective leadership of the Quality Management System, maintenance of ISO 9001 certification, development of team capability, and partnership with Operations and other functional groups. The Quality Manager is expected to be a visible, hands‑on leader who fosters a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Principal Functional Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement programs to ensure effective ongoing product quality.
  • Support and lead plant Continuous Improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma and other structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Manage and direct required testing throughout all processes.
  • Provide analysis of quality and operational performance data to support plant objectives and drive data‑based decision making.
  • Recruit quality assurance associates, as appropriate, and lead the coaching, training, and development of all quality team members to build capability, strengthen performance, and ensure work is performed in accordance with stated procedures and expectations.
  • Responsible for the Quality Management System and external audits, including maintenance of ISO 9001 certification.
  • Interface with customers and regulatory agency inspection representatives during plant visits and scheduled audits (UL, ETL, ABS, etc.).
  • Investigate field issues, customer returns, and nonconforming product, utilizing structured root cause analysis and corrective action processes to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure effective operation of the plant as a member of the Plant Leadership Team.
  • Provide effective communication to internal and external customers on matters relating to quality.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functional groups to drive quality ownership and achieve business objectives.

  • Demonstrated success working within a high‑performance manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance techniques and Continuous Improvement methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma principles and tools.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proven ability to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, quality improvement efforts, and data‑driven decision making.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and talent development skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes across all levels of the organization, including hourly associates, engineers, supervisors, managers, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated success building collaborative relationships and achieving results through partnership with Operations and cross‑functional teams.
  • Must have solid attention to detail while maintaining a focus on broader business objectives.
  • Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and effectively balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with solid planning, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong understanding of business principles and practices.
  • High energy, demonstrates urgency, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
