Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking a Quality Manager in the United States to plan, coordinate, and direct quality programs ensuring QC/QA of products against established standards. Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Manager, or in a comparable role.
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or business from four-year college or university.

  • Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Utilizes Key Performance Indicators to track, monitor, and implement corrective/improvement activities.
  • Manages and drives the Corrective/Preventive Action process.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Plans and oversees analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure quality of assigned product or component.
  • Reviews all data obtained during quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Represents the company during customer visits and surveys, and during meetings at the customer’s location.
  • Keeps management abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to management.
  • Directs workers in inspection and testing activities to ensure control over materials and products.
  • Maintains knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Designs and implements quality training programs with managers.

Essential Functions
  • Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.

  • Manages and drives the Corrective/Preventive Action process.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Performs reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Represents the company during customer visits and surveys, and during meetings and presentations at the customer’s location.
  • Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Proficiency in navigating and utilizing the PLEX ERP system is required.
Supervisory Responsibility

Directly oversees employees in the Quality Department, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Key duties include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and monitoring work; evaluating performance; providing recognition and corrective actions; and addressing and resolving employee concern.

Minimum Qualifications
  • To successfully perform this role, the individual must have a minimum of 8 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Manager, or in a comparable role, along with at least 2 years of management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in (B.A) in engineering, management, or business from four-year college or university.
Background Prerequisites
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
