Job summary

A leading Aerospace company is seeking an organized Quality Engineer to supervise the quality department. This role requires managing personnel and ensuring adherence to AS9100 and NADCAP certifications. The ideal candidate must have over 5 years of experience in quality engineering within the Aerospace and Defense sectors. Responsibilities include overseeing corrective actions and supporting compliance with engineering standards. A positive mindset and strong leadership skills are essential. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Knowledge of FAIR package analysis and submission process is essential.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100:D and NADCAP Quality Management Systems.

Job description

We are looking for an organized and highly effective individual who enjoys being hands on and owning a variety of tasks within the quality department. This position is committed to delivering a high level of quality and detail, in an efficient and timely manner, understanding the need to manage a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines from vendors and customers.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Adheres to company safety rules/policies.
  • Manage Quality Department personnel by ensuring efficient workflow through the department, including setting daily/weekly/monthly priorities to meet all internal and external requirements.
  • Lead and maintain all external regulatory certifications such as AS9100, NADCAP, and any customer required certifications.
  • Be the liaison with manufacturing and engineering personnel to resolve nonconformances, corrective actions, etc. to ensure speed and accuracy meet scheduling requirements.
  • Report, track, and manage the Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement systems, including programs to drive quality in all departments and actions within Aerodyn.
  • Organize and analyze all customer records to ensure effective record keeping of customer information.
  • Establish and present regular training for employees on quality issues and develop programs to encourage each employee to perform quality control as part of operations.
  • Establish and present regular quality management review meetings to include company metrics and key process indicators to upper management, on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Perform additional support for plate inspection, part marking, FAI/Data packages, inspections, and shipments to ensure quality workload is completed on a timely basis.
  • Perform DSQR support to meet customer requirements.Oversee and support all in source inspections with customer representatives. This includes FAIR data packages to ensure compliance with all customer standards and requirements.
  • Interpret and understand all engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes to guide engineering and quality staff for accuracy of measurements.
  • Works cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and all departments to be the center focused point of contact within the quality department.
  • Participate in and complete any mandatory labor support to achieve organizational goals.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Aerodyn management.
Qualifications And Experience
  • High School Diploma Required; Bachelor’s degree in related field or Quality Management is preferred
  • Prior experience (5+) in quality engineering related to industry work, preferably Aerospace and Defense customers.
  • Strong practical application knowledge of AS9100:D and NADCAP Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of FAIR package Analysis and Submission
  • Prior experience with Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPA)
