Job summary

Golden Aluminum in Fort Lupton, CO is seeking a senior quality/process engineer to develop and maintain all QA standards, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance and driving continuous improvement. You will lead investigations, KPI development, and audits, shaping product quality across the production line.

You will mentor supervisors, implement corrective actions, and manage internal audits with a focus on reducing defects and costs while supporting new product introductions.

Qualifications

• BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering required.
• 5+ years direct experience as a quality and/or process engineer in manufacturing; metals preferred.
• 2+ years experience leading a team of professionals.
• Six Sigma/Lean experience required; Greenbelt certification required; Blackbelt preferred.
• Proven track record of managing projects in an industrial environment.
• Experience implementing statistical and process control tools in production.

Responsibilities

Compensation: $125,000+ depending on qualifications

Job Summary
Develops and maintains all quality assurance standards and processes. This includes, but is not limited to ISO, customer concerns, research and development and inspection processes.

Job Description

• Investigate customer complaints; collaborate with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
• Train line supervisors and operators on changes in procedures to improve product quality.
• Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to support productivity and cost initiatives.
• Maintain the QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Manage the internal audit program.
• Identify and communicate deficiencies in the quality assurance program and present them periodically to management along with plans to address the shortcomings.
• Develop quality specifications for raw material, vendor supplied parts, specialties, fabricated parts and finished products.
• Oversee and guide root cause analysis for product defects and process variation.
• Initiate preventive measures in the manufacturing process when identified by customer concerns.
• Oversee daily task assignments of direct reports as well as supervise and prioritize tasks as necessary to ensure schedule compliance.
• Review and approve all revisions to the internal process procedures and quality system procedures to assure that documentation meets current regulatory and customer requirements.
• Represent company during all customer and regulatory audits.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization using Six Sigma methods.
• All other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is required
• 5+ years direct experience as a quality and/or process engineer in a manufacturing environment; metals industry experience preferred
• 2+ years experience leading a team of professionals
• Experience in heavy manufacturing industry highly desired
• In depth knowledge of implementing statistical and process control tools in a production environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects in an industrial environment.
• Six Sigma/Lean experience required; Greenbelt certification required; Blackbelt certification preferred.
• Previous QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Experience writing new or revised procedures. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills are necessary
• Strong interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills. Must be able to effectively present logical information in a structured fashion to different levels of the organization and customer base.
