Job summary

Jobtailor in Ohio seeks a Senior Quality Assurance leader to partner with manufacturing and drive site-wide quality initiatives in aerospace. You will own QMS, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with AS9100.

You will interface with customers, lead audits, and deliver improvements in cost and delivery while upholding stringent quality standards.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering with 10+ years in aerospace manufacturing or similar high‑reliability sector.
  • Master's degree preferred for advanced QA leadership.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage a Quality Management System (AS9100).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Quality organization to drive site execution and operational improvement.
  • Lead and drive Quality initiatives to improve delivery and cost in support of site strategy.
  • Mentor and develop people through training, performance management, and career development.
  • Interface with customers to foster positive, constructive relationships.
  • Ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Oversee administration of the site Quality Management System.
  • Ensure audits (internal and external) identify root causes and effective corrective actions.
  • Provide oversight and reporting of Production Accountability.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the Quality organization is a full partner in driving company execution and improving business operations
  • Establish and drive Quality initiatives that advance improvement in both delivery and cost and ultimately support the site strategy
  • Promote people development by actively engaging in mentoring, knowledge transfer, training, performance management and career development
  • Actively interface with customers to promote positive, constructive relationships
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets or exceeds customer requirements
  • Be responsible for administration of the site Quality Management System
  • Ensure that audits, both internally and externally, are performed, true root causes uncovered and corrective actions are followed through to correct any deficiencies and discrepancies observed
  • Provide oversight and reporting of Production Accountability
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of Manufacturing and Quality Assurance experience in Aerospace or other complex manufacturing industry with exacting/demanding requirements
  • Demonstrated success at delivering superior business results through the effective execution of the Quality Management System
  • A solid compliance and regulatory background, including the administration of a Quality Management System
  • Possess Lean 6 Sigma skills and experience
  • Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of, and compliance to AS9100
  • Practical knowledge of Quality Assurance analysis tools (Six Sigma, FAI, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, Apollo, Fishbone)
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to field
  • Hands on experience in the use of CMM inspection equipment and/or certification in X-Ray or NDT would be preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
