Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies, seeks a Plant Quality Manager in Erie to lead the quality function and sustain the zero defects culture. You will drive AS9100/NADCAP compliance, lead continuous improvement projects, and coordinate audits across the plant.

You will report to the Erie Plant Quality Manager and partner with teams to optimize the quality management system while ensuring customer requirements are met and policies followed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences or mathematics.
  • 4+ years of quality experience in aerospace manufacturing with increasing responsibilities and prior leadership experience.
  • Auditing experience with AS9100, NADCAP or related.
  • Zero Defects Methodology experience or certification.
  • Proficiency with AS9100, ISO9000 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Familiarity with PPAP, PFMEA, QCP, MSA and process capability tools.
  • Strong problem solving and data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to communicate with managers, customers and auditors.

  • Drives Zero Defects and process capability within the Erie Plant.
  • Leads quality process improvement using statistical tools and prevention-oriented practices.
  • Responsible for SPC implementation on the shop floor.
  • Leads cross-functional continuous improvement projects focusing on COPQ and first-pass quality.
  • Supports NDT operations and audits.
  • Ensures compliance with customer quality requirements and Parker policies.
  • Leads and develops the Quality Team.
  • Coordinates in-plant quality training and operator certification.
  • Represents Parker during customer and supplier audits.

Position Summary

Provide leadership and management for the Erie quality function and sustain the quality philosophy and zero defects culture for the division at the plant level. Maintain and optimize an effective quality management system. Support the implementation of the divisional quality plan at the plant level to achieve the division’s overall quality objectives. Enhance and improve the Divisional products and services through the implementation of AS9100, ISO 9001, problem-solving tools, prevention methods, quality-at-the-source, and continual improvement techniques. This role will report to the Erie Plant Quality Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Supports plant quality management to achieve Plant-level goals and metrics in support of Divisional goals through strategies and objectives
  • Drives Zero Defects and process capability within the Erie Plant
  • Proactively leads quality process improvement initiatives using technical/statistical problem solving and prevention-oriented quality principles and practices
  • Responsible for SPC implementation on shop floor
  • Lead multi-disciplined continuous improvement projects and teams focused on improvements to COPQ and first pass Quality
  • Leading the NDT department by supporting daily operations and accommodating internal and external audits
  • Ensures compliance to customer quality requirements and Parker LORD quality policies
  • Provides direct leadership support to the Quality Team including both exempt and non-exempt team members
  • Coordination of in-plant quality related training and operator certification activities
  • Represents the Company during customer audits and quality system audits, as well as through direct interactions with customers and suppliers regarding product quality matters.
  • Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Supports Management Review by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences or Mathematics
  • Minimum 4+ years of Quality related experience with increasing responsibility in an aerospace manufacturing environment and previous leadership experience
  • Auditing experience with AS9100, NADCAP or related
  • Zero Defects Methodology
  • Demonstrated process management/lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience as well as knowledge and experience with quality system standards
  • Competent with AS9100, ISO9000 and NADCAP requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Zero Defects core tools (PPAP, PFMEA, QCP, MSA, process capability, error proofing)
  • Demonstrated ability to create, train, monitor, analyze and implement improvements in SPC
  • Demonstrated competence in various problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Ability to lead teams and develop positive relationships with coworkers, customers, suppliers, and auditors
  • Approachable and able to effectively communicate advanced quality concepts, plans, and technical data, internally and externally at all levels.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and related process controls is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid working knowledge of mechanical processes utilized in the manufacture of metal/rubber products.
  • Demonstrated Quality leadership in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • FAA experience
  • Green Belt
