Job summary

Trelleborg is seeking a Quality Receiving Inspection leader to oversee the QRI department within a warehouse/logistics facility. You will manage daily inspection priorities, provide guidance, and drive problem solving with inspectors on the production floor and in the office.

The role requires leadership experience, the ability to read mechanical drawings, and a focus on safety and quality. ITAR considerations and domestic travel are part of the job.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree in business or engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Inspection.
  • Automotive industry experience a plus.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of elastomer and plastic products is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specs and work instructions.

Job description

Leadership of the Quality Receiving Inspection Department. Coordinates daily inspection priorities and activities, decision-making, provides guidance and problem solving to QRI inspectors. Exhibits leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrates high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior. Plans trains and motivates, evaluates performance of Inspectors.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Leads most aspects of Inspection Department and employees from planning to human resource functions
  • Assigns and prioritizes workflow for the Receiving Inspection department to perform inspection of all incoming material
  • Lead Quality Receiving Inspection (QRI) department for receiving inspection of purchased materials and outside services while operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coach, record, and deliver corrective actions as necessary
  • Lead Quality Receiving Inspection (QRI) department for receiving inspection of purchased materials and outside services while operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Train, coach and develop QRI Technicians and prioritize QRI workflow.
  • Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) related to customer complaints and product returns. (Industrial and Aerospace)
  • Initial containment actions for customer quality complaints and concerns.
  • Coordinate requests for supplier root cause investigation (RCI) and corrective actions (CA’s) and maintain CQA data with Purchasing Dept.
  • Coordinate RCI and CA responses to customer via Sales/Marketing CSA’s.
  • JDE inventory management transactions for customer returns, internal scrap, etc.
Education and Experience:
  • HS Diploma or GED required, Bachelors Degree in business or engineering related degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Quality Assurrance or Quality Inspection required
  • Experience in Automotive Industry is a plus
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Product knowledge for elastomer and plastic products preferred

This position is located in a warehouse/logistics facility which requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting, twisting, and bending.

This position requires approximately 20% of time spent on the production floor and 80% in a general office environment.

Travel:
  • The Customer Service Representative position is a local on-site position.
  • Limited domestic travel requirements less than 10% per year for travel to other Trelleborg facilities.
