Job summary

TekniPlex is seeking a Quality Lead at our South Madison, WI facility. You will lead the quality team, plan and train staff, and drive improvements to ensure safety and product quality. This role pays $30–$32 per hour for first shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

The successful candidate will actively support safety initiatives, maintain quality systems, and lead daily quality operations to meet performance goals while fostering teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' experience in Quality Technician role.
• In good standing with attendance.
• Demonstrated team facilitation skills and success in implementing process improvements in conjunction with employee work teams.
• Demonstrated success in continuous improvement within manufacturing as per standards.
• Must be computer literate and demonstrate capability in working with Microsoft Suites.
• Ability to operate and communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in groups, under normal and stressful conditions.
• Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel. Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of quality process and manufacturing capabilities. Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess job requirements and address possible job hazards by eliminating hazards or implementing PPE requirements or engineering solutions.
• Audit employee behaviors to ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines.
• Drive floor-level safety compliance and implement safety initiatives.
• Participate actively on plant-wide safety teams.
• Ensure quality of products and processes through understanding and supporting quality policies and systems.
• Report non-conformances or high-risk quality problems to supervisor.
• Reject non-conforming material and manage disposition or rework.
• Lead daily activities of quality area to meet volume, safety, and quality standards.
• Train and develop personnel within the quality department.
• Ensure timely data collection and reporting within the Quality department.
• File all certificates in a timely manner and ensure verifications are completed promptly.
• Maintain and schedule calibrations on equipment with outside calibration companies.
• Prepare COA (certificate of analysis) and document; prepare samples for customers as needed.
• Handle urgent customer requests via proper communication channels.
• Facilitate team improvement projects such as Statistical Process Control implementation and Quality documentation practices.
• Work with QC Manager and Technical Manager on new products, samples, and issue resolution.

JOB SUMMARY

TekniPlex is hiring a Quality Lead for our South Madison, WI facility. A team leader, planner, trainer, and administrator. Must continually support and demonstrate a bias for action on individual and/or employee team-based initiatives. Encourages employee participation in our improvement processes by demonstrating proactive support for team-based initiatives.The pay range for this role is $30 - $32 per hour.

1 st Shift Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Constantly accessing job requirements and addresses possible job hazards by either eliminating the hazard or through implementing a requirement for PPE or possible engineering solution.

Audits employee behaviors to ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines.

Drive floor level safety compliance and implement safety initiatives.

Participates actively on the plant-wide safety teams.

Ensures Quality of products and processes are maintained by:

Understands and supports the quality policies, quality systems. Reports any non-conformances or high-risk quality problems to immediate supervisor.

Reject any non-conforming material

Block material uses in PRMS

Rework or scrap material

Leads daily activities of quality area to ensure that volume, safety, and quality standards are achieved.

Responsible for the training and development of personnel.

Ensures that data collection/reporting activities within the Quality department are completed accurately and on a timely basis.

Must file all certificates in a timely manner

Ensure verifications are completed in a timely manner

Maintain and schedule calibrations on equipment with outside calibration companies.

Preparing COA (certificate of analysis) and documenting

Preparing Samples for customers if needed

Handle Urgent Requests for customers via proper communication channels

Facilitates team improvement projects such as, but not limited to:

Quality improvement- implementation of Statistical Process Control.
