Job summary

Entegris in Hillsboro, Oregon seeks a Quality Lab Technician III for the Front Half Day Shift. The role supports testing of incoming materials, in-process samples, and finished products using advanced metrology tools and participates in continuous improvement.

The shift runs 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday to Tuesday with every other Wednesday off. The candidate will follow lab methods, record data for traceability, maintain instruments, and work with the team to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in an industrial laboratory, or an associate degree with 1+ years in an industrial lab.
• General knowledge of quality systems and laboratory best practices.
• Ability to work in shift-based hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory testing of incoming materials, in-process samples, and finished products using metrology tools.
• Follow work instructions and identify improvements to test methods.
• Record data accurately in data management systems for traceability.
• Maintain 6S clean, safe lab environment and calibrate instruments.
• Troubleshoot equipment and analyze large datasets to drive corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Assist in creating and reviewing laboratory work instructions.

Job Description

The Role:

Our site in Hillsboro is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician to join our team. The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for supporting testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using advanced metrology tools while also supporting continuous improvement activities.

Shift Hours: 5:30 AM - 6PM Sunday - Tuesday with every other Wednesday alternating

What You'll Do

• Laboratory testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using a variety of advanced metrology tools
• Follow work instructions for laboratory test methods; identify and implement method improvements
• Record all data and results in specified data management systems accurately to ensure traceability and data defensibility
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and orderly environment (6S guidelines)
• Maintain laboratory instruments, conduct long-term stability measurements, and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Resolve testing or data issues by examining and evaluating large datasets to identify corrective actions
• Strive for operational excellence, collaboration, positive team morale, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to the creation, revision, and review of laboratory work instructions, including evaluation of procedural errors, ambiguities, or inefficiencies

What We Seek

• A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent with 3+ years previous experience in an industrial laboratory or an associate's degree in a relevant field of study with 1+ years previous experience in an industrial laboratory is desired
• General knowledge of quality systems and laboratory best practices
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, be self-motivated and disciplined, and adaptable to change (shifting priorities)
• An individual with a quality mindset, strong customer focus, good written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills (attention to detail and accuracy) and work ethic
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team
• Prior experience, and dedication to, maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Meticulous attention to detail and organization

Outstanding Candidates Will Have

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology) with previous experience working in a quality laboratory or other scientific laboratory is highly preferred
• Previous hands-on experience working with and maintaining metrology equipment
• Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, corrosives, and toxic compounds)
• A desire to expand upon technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, special projects, and reading technical publications
• Working knowledge of MS Office including proficiency in Excel
