Job description

We are seeking a Quality Inspector I to join our aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure aircraft parts, subassemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built in accordance with engineering specifications, FAA requirements, and company quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.

  • Perform inspection activities using engineering drawings, work orders, route cards, inspection travelers, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures, and related documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary, in-process, progressive, and final inspections of aircraft structures and systems.
  • Verify functional operation of aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Inspect for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and ensure proper documentation is completed.
  • Witness, verify, and document required manufacturing process steps.
  • Perform conformity and first article inspections to ensure compliance with FAA-approved procedures.
  • Verify aircraft parts, assemblies, and installations meet design and quality requirements.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and actively participate in company safety initiatives.
  • Immediately report workplace hazards and contribute to risk reduction efforts.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel.
  • Perform area inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support company quality and safety objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 year of quality inspection experience OR 2 years of manufacturing experience Corporate Aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Completion of Formal Inspection Training Program within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of shop mathematics
  • Competent in the use of basic shop tools and inspection equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent aerospace experience
  • Experience with CATIA and blueprint interpretation
  • Aerospace manufacturing or aircraft inspection experience
