Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Quality Inspector in Huntsville, AL to inspect incoming components, read drawings, and document non-conformances. The role requires hands-on measurement with micrometers, calipers, and gauging tools, and you will support ISO AS9100 manufacturing environments.

You will lead or participate in 5S, travel to customer sites as needed, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED with 3–5 years of Quality Inspection experience.
• Experience leading operations or teams to complete tasks.
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate with management.
• Knowledge reading and interpreting drawings.
• Experience using micrometers, height gauges, gage blocks, radius gauges, and calipers.
• Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Ability to complete handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; able to work with basic software.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for inspections.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville area.
• US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a High School diploma/GED with3-5 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
• Must have experience in leading operations or teams in completing tasks.
• Must be able to solve complex problems, relate with other team members, and communicate with other levels of management.
• Must have knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings.
• Must have knowledge of how to efficiently use micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
• Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Candidate must be able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
• Candidates must have Computer Skills and can use computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
• Applicants must be able to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen. possess, or be able to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with drawing interpretation both Electrical and Mechanical.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.
• IPC 610/620 certified.
• J-STD certified.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00
