Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE is seeking a quality technician in Lansing, MI to review work orders, inspect parts with basic hand gages, and prepare shipping documentation with processing certs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of quality/manufacturing experience. You will maintain traceability records, mark parts, and support nonconformance processes. A 2nd shift differential of 12% applies.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ minimum quality and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Understanding of basic engineering print principals.
• Experience with basic hand gaging (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.) preferred.
• Must be able to pass a required annual vision test.
• Organizational multi-tasking skills.
• Communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review work order documentation including Router and IMS for completion.
• Inspect part characteristics using basic hand gages as required.
• Make copies to support shipping documentation of material and processing certs along with evidence of special processing as required by customer.
• Part Mark product according to instructions.
• Create and update internal nonconformance records as needed.
• Maintain completed work order records according to traceability and evidence of inspection retention requirements.
• Administrative duties as assigned.
