Job summary

Amphenol Printed Circuit Board Technology in Nashua, NH is seeking an Inspector to perform final stage visual inspection of printed circuit boards, including backplanes, daughter cards, flex circuits and assemblies.

The role requires using micrometers and Vernier calipers, reading blueprints, maintaining IPC‑TM‑650 knowledge, and potentially operating a CMM; overtime and cross‑training may be required.

Qualifications

  • Reads blueprints/customer drawings.
  • Performs physical measurements per IPC-TM-650.
  • Uses measuring tools safely and accurately.
  • Possesses IPC-A-600 Certification or demonstrates equivalent knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Visual inspection of PCB including backplanes, daughter cards, flex circuits, and assemblies.
  • Follow process instructions on batch cards and inspection reports.
  • Perform physical measurements such as Bow & Twist and adhesion testing per IPC-TM-650.
  • Inspect finishes (Tin, Gold, Solder) and verify specifications.
  • Inspect various product types (flex, rigid-flex, rigid).
  • Cross-train in other departments as needed.
  • Assist with First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Overtime may be required for alternate shifts/weekends.

Job description

This position is responsible for inspection of Printed Circuit Boards in the final stages.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Visual inspection of printed circuit boards including - backplane, daughter cards, flex circuits, and assemblies.
  • Must be able to use a micrometer, Vernier and pin gauges.
  • Use of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) desired, Optek.
  • Follow process instructions on work documents such as batch cards, and Inspection Reports.
  • Perform physical measurements such as Bow & Twist, and adhesion testing based on IPC-TM-650.
  • Perform physical and visual inspection of final finishes such as Tin, Gold, Solder, and verify that they meet specifications.
  • Inspection of various product types (flex, rigid-flex, rigid)
  • Work safely to prevent injuries and follows all safety regulations.
  • May be required to cross train in other departments.
  • Ability to assist with and/or complete First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read blue print /customer drawings.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 25 lbs. safely.
  • Understand basic IPC specification and understand military/commercial specs.
  • IPC-A-600 Certification
  • Basic Computer experience - Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.
  • 2+ Years PCB experience a plus.
