Job summary

PPS-HPS is seeking a Quality Inspector I for our semiconductor support facility in Hillsboro. This full-time role offers profit sharing bonuses and strong growth potential.

You will perform inspections and tests to ensure products meet quality and safety standards, read and interpret drawings, and report nonconformances with precision. Ideal candidates have GD&T proficiency, basic math skills, and 1–2 years in a machine shop or semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, travelers, and specifications.
• Proficient with GD&T and mechanical measurement techniques.
• 1–2 years in machine shop or semiconductor environment.
• Strong communication and computer literacy (MS Office).
• Able to apply production instructions and tolerances per BOM.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and tests to ensure product quality.
• Inspect raw materials, components, assemblies and first article.
• Generate inspection and nonconformance reports as needed.
• Read drawings and generate precise inspection reports.
• Interface with departments, suppliers, and customers on quality issues.
• Operate CMM and measure using micrometers/calipers.

Job Description

PPS is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector I for our semiconductor support industry fabrication facility in Hillsboro. This is a full-time, permanent position with second-to-none benefits (including profit sharing bonuses) and a high ceiling for growth!

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that products meet standards of quality and safety.
• Performing inspections, checks and tests for quality control for the manufacture of products
• Performs mechanical inspection to ensure all quality aspects of the job are met exactly
• Inspection includes but is not limited to: Raw materials, components, fabricated/manufactured parts & assemblies, First Piece/First Article, Receiving/incoming inspection, in-process, final inspection
• Measures piece parts/components and/or assemblies
• Generates detail inspection and nonconformance reports as necessary
• Checks documents for accuracy and compliance
• Read and interpret information from engineering drawings, travelers, specifications, and other documents to generate a complete and precise inspection report
• Interfaces and provides support to other departments, suppliers, and customers on quality related issues as necessary

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications and database software- must be computer literate!
• Basic math abilities
• Must be able to read and apply production instructions, drawings, BOM schematics, and specifications at a proficient level
• Proficient in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
• Able to read and interpret specifications, standards, and engineering drawings/Blueprints
• Proficient in mechanical measurement techniques and workmanship standards related to machining and secondary processes such as paint, power coat, plating, etc.
• Proficient with weld symbols, callouts, wiring and/or crimping
• Proficiency using handheld tools (micrometers, calipers, Optical Comparator and other measuring and test equipment
• Able to proficiently operate CMM and perform basic CMM measurements
• High School Diploma/equivalent
• Some technician coursework/AA degree preferred.
• 1-2 years working in machine shop, assembly clean rooms. Semi-Conductor and/or similar industry
