Job summary

Tarkett Sports is seeking a Quality Inspector I to perform routine inspection and testing across Coating, Tufting, Logos, Graphics Tufting or Lab. You will visually inspect materials at various production stages, take measurements, and ensure accurate records.

A strong eye for detail and adherence to safety and quality standards are essential. The role supports collaboration with production personnel and Quality Team in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Basic math and measurement skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is expected.
• Strong attention to detail and defect identification is essential.
• Able to read and interpret production orders and specifications.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect coatings, tufting, logos, graphics tufting, or lab areas for defects.
• Measure roll width, pile height, and other specifications; record data.
• Place quality holds on defective rolls and prepare samples for testing.
• Verify correct raw materials and perform weight checks for new orders.
• Record inspection data for each batch and communicate findings to production.
• Support quality checks across departments and follow safety policies.

Job Summary

A Shift/ Day Shift

A Quality Inspector I job requires you to perform routine inspection and/or testing in three of the following Departments/Areas: Coating, Tufting, Logos, Graphics Tufting or Lab. This job involves visually checking raw materials, products at different stages of production, and finished products. You'll also make simple measurements and ensure all records are accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Coating:
  • Inspect turf during coating process (face and back) for defects.
  • Measure roll width, pile height, tuft binds, and record data accordingly.
  • Place quality holds on defective rolls.
  • Prepare samples for lab testing and 3rd party testing.
• Tufting:
  • Perform routine inspections, creel verifications; communicate and record any findings.
  • Verify correct raw materials (backing, fiber, fiber color).
  • Perform “weight checks” for all new orders and confirm product specifications.
  • Assist with Graphics Tufting quality checks.
• Graphics Tufting:
  • Perform routine inspections, communicate and record any findings.
  • Verify correct raw materials (fiber type and color).
  • Perform “weight checks” for all new frames and confirm product specifications.
  • Measure and record dimensions of finished product.
• Logos:
  • Measure logo dimensions and check for defects.
  • Assist with Graphics Tufting quality checks.
  • Record logo inspection data.
• Lab:
  • Conduct routine finished product tests (Instron, drainage).
  • Prepare test samples using die press cutter.
  • Test incoming materials (infill, fiber, backing) when necessary.
• Note: Each Department/Area requires effective communication with production personnel, department Supervisors, and Quality Team.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) and basic Math skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• High School Diploma/GED Required.
• Ability to read and interpret production orders and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
• Basic measurement skills using measuring tapes, rulers, and other tools.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
