Job summary

Abacus is seeking a Quality Inspector I to join our temporary team in Bethlehem, PA. You will inspect outsourced and internal finished and semi-finished medical devices, components and raw materials to ensure conformity with quality plans, specifications and requirements.

The role covers visual, functional and dimensional inspections across production stages, reporting any quality concerns with urgency, and supporting SOPs and preventive maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Basic understanding of inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, hard gauging).
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Strong attention to details and measurement concepts.
• Ability to read specs and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.

Position Summary

Performs inspections of outsourced and internal finished and semi-finished medical devices, components and raw materials to ensure that product comply with product quality plans, specifications and requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications
• Perform visual, functional and dimensional inspections across all stages of production
• Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
• Corrects or escalates quality or compliance concerns.
• Follows all Tyber Medical, LLC Standard Operating Procedures.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance activities
• Other Duties as assigned
  

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Basic understanding of using calipers, micrometers, hard gauging and other applicable inspection tools.
• Basic working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills

Language and mathematical skills/Reasoning ability

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
