Job description

The Quality Inspector performs incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections to verify product quality. This position records results, reports nonconforming materials, and supports Quality Control Technicians with assigned activities. The duties listed are not all-inclusive and may change based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. 1. Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections according to applicable quality requirements.
  2. 2. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using approved measuring equipment.
  3. 3. Record inspection results and maintain required documentation.
  4. 4. Identify, segregate, and report nonconforming or suspect materials.
  5. 5. Support sorting, containment, reinspection, and product verification.
  6. 6. Assist Quality Control Technicians with testing, measurement, and documentation.
  7. 7. Maintain inspection tools and work areas.
  8. 8. Follow safety, quality, and company procedures.
  9. 9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. 1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. 2. Manufacturing, inspection, or Quality Control experience preferred.
  3. 3. Ability to read drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  4. 4. Basic knowledge of measuring tools preferred.
  5. 5. Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  6. 6. Good communication skills and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following requirements apply with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. 1. Lift, carry, handle, and position products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  2. 2. Stand and walk for up to 8 hours per workday.
  3. 3. Frequently bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull.
  4. 4. Perform repetitive visual and dimensional inspections.
  5. 5. Maintain focus, identify defects, and complete accurate records.
  6. 6. Manage multiple assignments and changing priorities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  1. 1. Work is performed in production, warehouse, and Quality Control areas.
  2. 2. Exposure to noise, machinery, bright lighting, and seasonal temperature changes.
  3. 3. Required use of applicable personal protective equipment.
  4. 4. Must remain alert around forklifts and material-handling equipment.
TRAVEL:

Occasional travel to customer locations or off-site warehouses may be required to perform inspections and product verification.
