Job summary

Amphenol Borisch Technologies (ABT), a division of Amphenol Corporation, is a Grand Rapids-based leader in high-reliability electronic systems. The Quality Inspector ensures machined components meet customer, engineering, and quality system requirements through dimensional and visual inspections.

You will collaborate with engineering and production leadership to drive continuous improvement, document results, apply GD&T, and maintain calibration and quality records on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing workflows.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical Prints and GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, NCR processes, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per prints and customer requirements.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Apply GD&T to inspect position, runout, perpendicularity, and flatness.
• Read and interpret prints, blueprints, work instructions, and revision-controlled documents.
• Document inspection results in the quality management system, ERP, or inspection reports.
• Create and manage NCRs and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
• Verify that measurement tools are calibrated and report damaged or out-of-tolerance instruments.
• Collaborate with machinists, production operators, engineers, and supervisors to address issues.
• Maintain quality records and support audits.
• Keep inspection area clean, safe, and organized.
• Any other task assigned by manager
