Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform final and in-process inspections across production stages. You will verify dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and galvanizing, while interpreting mechanical drawings and maintaining traceability.

The role requires precise measurement skills, strong math and analytical abilities, and the stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including potential climbs to heights. A High School Diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to accurately use a tape measure and fractions of an inch.
• Strong understanding of feet/inches and decimals (imperial & metric).
• Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word; SAP/Salesforce helpful.
• Solid math, analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with multi-tasking ability.
• Independent work ethic with ability to meet inspection deadlines.
• Detail-oriented during repetitive inspections.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspections on outgoing products, including dimensional, weld, and galvanizing checks.
• Measure parts using tapes, micrometers, and calipers.
• Verify galvanizing thickness with gauges.
• Audit in-process and final products at multiple production stages.
• Interpret drawings to confirm dimensional and quality requirements.
• Convert between fractions, decimals, and metric/imperial units.
• Audit product IDs and maintain traceability throughout production.
• Maintain inspection records and scan electronic files.
• Support QMS documentation updates and improvements.
• Manage and track gage calibration for accuracy and compliance.
