Job summary

Wood is seeking a Chief Inspector (Sr. Quality Inspector) to lead the inspection team on major pipeline and station construction projects.

You will report to the Construction Manager and Project Director, directing inspection activities, coordinating survey crews, and ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and safety requirements. Ideal candidates have five years of pipeline/construction experience, familiarity with CFR Title 49 Parts 191 & 192, and strong communication skills to liaise with

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in pipeline and station construction projects.
  • Familiarity with CFR Title 49 and Parts 191 & 192.
  • Ability to read project drawings and applicable specifications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety of all personnel during activities.
  • Ensure regulatory and environmental permits are in place before construction.
  • Coordinate communication among project management, client staff and constructor staff.
  • Monitor inspection activities and report discrepancies.
  • Direct survey crews to meet project needs.
  • Monitor weld testing and X-ray reporting for 100% weld quality.

Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood Pipeline Inspection Team has an opportunity for a Chief Inspector (Sr. Quality Inspector). In this role you will be assigned to major project reporting to the Construction Manager & Project Manager/Director leading a team. Direct the efforts of the inspection team to assure the construction activities are in accordance with all project drawings, specifications and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assure all activities are conducted to maintain the safety of all personnel.
  • Ensure that all government regulatory and environmental permitting is in place before construction commences.
  • Assure that all of constructor's equipment and staff are qualified to meet safety requirements of the project.
  • Coordinate communication between the project management team, client staff and constructor staff to assure an effective project execution.
  • Monitor and direct all inspection activities; report any discrepancies in meeting the requirements of the project specifications and procedures.
  • Direct and coordinate survey crews to meet the needs of the construction activities.
  • Review and record inspection reports; direct all corrective action required.
  • Monitor all weld testing and x-ray reporting to assure 100% coverage of weld quality.
Qualifications
  • Ability to monitor and direct all inspection activities; report any discrepancies in meeting the requirements of the project specifications and procedures
  • Demonstrate the abiltty to direct and coordinate survey crews to meet the needs of the construction activities
  • Able to review and record inspection reports; direct all corrective action required
  • Ability to monitor all weld testing and z-ray reporting to assure 100% coverage of weld quality
  • Demonstrate the ability to be well informed with project drawings and applicable specifications and procedures and to discuss this information with craft inspectors
  • Five years of experience in pipeline and station construction projects
  • Familiarity wi th CFR Tr tle 49 and Parts 191 & 192
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good oral and written communication skills
