Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Quality Inspector – Assembly & Test in West Valley City, UT to verify mechanical and electrical assemblies meet engineering specs and customer requirements. You will perform in-process and final inspections, ensure traceability, and maintain accurate quality documentation.

The role supports First Article Inspections per AS9102 and requires collaboration with Operations, Quality Engineering, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with quality inspection in aerospace/defense environments preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and acceptance-test docs.
• Proficiency with measurement tools and calibration handling.
• Experience with nonconformance reporting and document control.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Inspect product configuration, workmanship, dimensions, and traceability.
• Review travelers, inspection records, test results, and certifications.
• Verify product identification and traceability across part numbers and lots.
• Document inspection results and maintain data integrity.
• Initiate nonconformance reports and coordinate disposition with QA/Operations.
• Support First Article Inspections per AS9102 and related documentation.
• Assist supplier source inspections and prepare quality data packages.
• Communicate findings and quality concerns to relevant teams.
