Flowserve Charlotte specializes in repairing and supplying pump-related components to the Nuclear Industry, operating under a rigorous Quality Assurance Program.

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team. This role collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customers, and Plant Management to ensure all outgoing products meet or exceed Engineering and Quality standards. As the primary Certified Level II Non-Destructive Examiner at our Charlotte Nuclear Service Center and Memphis Hot Shop, you will conduct inspections [VT, PT, MT, UT] and ensure compliance with all applicable drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role reports directly to the Facility Quality Manager and adheres to Nuclear Quality Assurance Program requirements per NQA-1, 10CFR50 App B, 10CFR21, and ASME Section III [NPT and NR accreditations].

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional weekend work as needed.

Location:
Charlotte, NC, with 25% to 50% travel to Memphis, TN.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualify, perform, and maintain Level II Non-Destructive Examination certifications [VT, PT, UT, MT] per SNT-TC-1A and Nuclear Quality Program requirements.

Maintain Level II Mechanical Inspector certifications per ASME/ANSI N45.2.6, NQA-1, and Nuclear Quality Program standards.

Document inspection results using manual inspection instruments, engineered drawings, production orders, and associated procedures.

Record non-conforming materials in accordance with approved Non-Conformance Procedures.

Review supplier certifications for accuracy during receiving inspections and commercial grade dedication processes.

Review and complete manufacturing and testing documents as required by inspection authorities.

Ensure material and component identification for traceability.

Support facility goals such as on-time performance, first-time quality, and key performance indicators.

Continuously grow in responsibilities within Quality Control.

Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

Requirements:

High school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

Current SNT-TC-1A NDE Level II qualifications [PT, VT, UT, MT].

Knowledge of welding, machining, and quality systems.

Familiarity with quality standards, laws, and regulations of national and international authorities.

Flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn with a positive, can-do attitude.

Willingness and ability to travel (minimum 25%).

Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Operational excellence and a high standard of customer service.

Must be a U.S. person.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or related technical degree.

Expert knowledge of inspection equipment used in machining, assembly, and testing.

Familiarity with pumps and pump components.

Experience examining castings.

Previous experience in a nuclear environment.
