Silfex, Inc., a Lam Research Company, seeks a Team Lead for the Quality Inspection department to guide priority setting, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product quality through detailed testing and analysis.

You will support cross-shift communication, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to key initiatives that shape the quality system. This hands-on role requires strong technical and analytical skills and a commitment to safety and Lean practices.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; manufacturing QA experience preferred.
• 6 years in QA with 1 year of leadership; Silfex experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and procedures.
• Strong math and data interpretation skills for QA metrics.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the go-to contact for the final inspection team in the absence of the Quality Supervisor.
• Perform detailed inspections on parts meeting specifications.
• Prepare products for shipment with quality and accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to guide inspection.
• Support daily quality issue troubleshooting and mistake-proofing initiatives.
• Coordinate inspection priorities across shifts when the Supervisor is absent.
• Conduct internal QA audits monthly.
• Maintain and update operational data regularly.
• Ensure inspection data is accurately recorded and resolved data issues.
• Provide feedback to the Quality Supervisor on employee performance.
• Apply Lean concepts and 5S in daily work.
• Develop knowledge of Silfex QMS and Quality Procedures.
• Assist in training department personnel.
• Work with engineering and metrology to address machine issues.
• Carry out special projects as assigned.

Job Description

As a Team Lead in Silfex’s Quality Inspection department, you’ll be a trusted expert and point of contact for both your team and leadership. In this advanced role, you’ll guide inspection priorities, troubleshoot quality issues, and ensure our products meet the highest standards through detailed testing and analysis. You’ll support cross-shift communication, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to key initiatives that shape our quality system. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to contact for the final inspection team in the absence of the Quality Supervisor.
• Perform detailed inspections on parts, ensuring they meet all required specifications.
• Prepare products for shipment, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to guide inspection procedures.
• Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day quality issue troubleshooting and mistake-proofing initiatives within the department.
• In the absence of the Quality Supervisor prepares and implements inspection priorities, ensuring communication with all four shifts.
• Perform Internal QA Audits monthly.
• Maintain and update operational data at regular intervals.
• Ensure inspection data is accurately recorded for select parts (Global Supplier Quality Assurance) and resolve issues that may impact data integrity or part release.
• Perform Daily Lighting Checks.
• Must be knowledgeable in removing parts from hold and rejection control procedure.
• Responsible for data collection for intradepartmental test plans, works with Engineering personnel on special projects.
• Assists in writing and updating Operating Procedures as needed.
• Attend Train the Trainer Classes and assist in the training of Department Personnel.
• Works in conjunction with the Department Supervisor/Manager on process/cost improvement ideas and implementation.
• Provides feedback to Quality Supervisor on employee performance.
• Performs all work-related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to Silfex management.
• Application of Lean manufacturing concepts, including 5S.
• Commit to ongoing development and competence of job functions.
• Perform tasks in both group and individual environments.
• Ensure the cleanliness and order of inspection and test stations.
• Proactively communicates with value streams, including engineering and metrology, to address machine issues and production items, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
• Carry out special projects and all other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) required
• 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field in a manufacturing environment with 1 year of leadership experience (1 year of Silfex experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of inspection criteria and ability to apply them accurately
• Knowledge and application of appropriate Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Skilled in applying logical thinking to solve problems using written, verbal, or visual instructions
• Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment
• Oversee and support the skill development of team members. Specifically, mentoring and educating team members
• Ability to oversee and assist the supervisor in managing shift operations
• Proficient at resolving Plex issues
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
• Must be able to assess drawings and specifications for machining and inspection results
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision and maintain high performance
• Must be able to attain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management, staff and employees
