Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Quality Inspector 3 to perform inspections and nondestructive tests (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests) on mechanical, electrical or structural components to ensure quality conformance for Naval reactor plants and related systems.

The role reports to a Supervisor, Inspection and works with standard policies; candidates should have a high school diploma with related experience and a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years additional education/experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 preferred.
• Background in geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with GD&T training (IPC J-STD-001, 610/620) preferred.
• Experience programming/operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
• Experience creating inspection reports and non-conformance tags.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and nondestructive tests (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests) on components.
• Determine accept/reject of work and tests performed.
• Possess authority to halt work to protect reactor plant safety and quality.
• Prepare and maintain inspection documentation and reports.
• Work under supervision in a manufacturing quality environment.
• Support the Naval reactor plant and related system inspections.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
