Job summary

RTX North Berwick is seeking a quality inspector to join the Repair Operations division on a second shift (3:30pm-1:30am, Mon-Thu) at our FAA-regulated facility. You will inspect parts, tools, and gages using standard procedures, review drawings and manuals, and determine when rework is needed or material is conformed.

You will perform dimensional and visual inspections with fixed and variable tools, document results, and maintain the inspection stamp while supporting continuous improvement and

  • High School or GED typically required.
  • Inspection experience (non-aerospace acceptable) preferred.
  • Familiar with precision measuring equipment.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills.
  • Basic shop math.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools, and gages following procedures and data.
  • Use fixed and variable measuring instruments to verify dimensions and record results.
  • Compute deviations to determine nonconformance and complete related paperwork.
  • Follow work instructions and ensure proper inspection procedures are followed.
  • Maintain inspection stamp and manage multiple priorities; anticipate overtime as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.

What You Will Do

This is an amazing opportunity to work on our Operations Team as a quality inspector, in the Repair Operations division.

This is a 2nd shift. 3:30pm-1:30am , Monday-Thursday.

Work applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, Engine Manuals and other pertinent instruction and/or Approved Technical Data to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools and gages and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.

Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments where work instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.

Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.

Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.

Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment used as necessary.

Support and promote continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.

Must maintain Inspection stamp.

Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime

May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.

Reviewing Customer parts as received, and determining the start of their repair path.Receiving Inspection.

Working with Legacy, Military, and GTF parts.

The salary range for this role is $17.13- $30.10. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
