Summit Polymers in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Quality Inspector for 2nd shift to perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on molded plastic parts and assemblies.
You\'ll set up and use measurement instruments, read blueprints, and ensure conformance to customer and company quality standards, joining a team that emphasizes continuous improvement and problem solving. This role requires good color perception, the ability to stand and walk, and the capacity to lift up to 30 pounds.

This is generally routine, repetitive, but diversified work, involving the visual, manual, and instrument checking of a variety of molded and assembled plastic parts, to assure conformance to customer dimensional, visual, and physical effort standards. Work involves use of various measuring instruments to check dimensional qualities; visual acuity to assure conformance to appearance standards; use of physical test instruments to assure conformance with effort standards. Minor judgment is involved in some areas based on general knowledge of Statistical Process Control, sampling techniques, and departmental standards. Good color judgment is a requirement.
High School Diploma or GED
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices. Must have ability to follow oral and written direction and work independently in accord with standard procedures.
This position typically does not require any travel.
