Job summary

KSM Electronics Inc. is hiring a Quality Inspector to provide quality control and assurance throughout production, from raw materials to the final product. This ITAR facility hires only US citizens or green card holders to ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in manufacturing with at least 1 year in a quality role.
  • Lean training or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; knowledge of safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and conducts quality tests on inbound materials and outbound products.
  • Ensures all quality procedures are followed during every production phase.
  • Creates documentation for quality issues and corrective actions taken.
  • Educates production team on quality control and safety improvements.
  • Creates process checklists and coordinates inspections with managers.
  • Approves incoming materials by verifying specs and tests.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specs and tests.
  • Documents inspection results and summarizes re-work and waste.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating and reports repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment per regulations.

Summary:

The Quality Inspector will provide quality control and assurance throughout all phases of the production process beginning with raw materials and ending with the final product.

***We are an ITAR facility and hire only US persons who are defined as US citizens or green card holders***

Expectations of the Quality Inspector:
  • Develops and conducts a variety of tests on inbound materials from vendors and outbound products for shipping to ensure they are in accordance with established tolerance levels for quality and performance.
  • Ensures that all of the quality check procedures put in place by KSM are followed during every production phase.
  • Creates comprehensive documentation for quality issues and notes the corrective actions that were taken.
  • Educates production team on quailty control issues and works with manufacturing managers to improve overall company safety and product quality.
  • Creates process checklists and cordinates quality inspections with manufacturing managers.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Quality Inspector. Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work within deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected
Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College or technical school degree preferred
  • 3 or more years in manufacturing and one year in a quality role required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Lean training/certification pereferred. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectations
