Job summary

Ginosko Modular in Romulus, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. You will report to the Quality Manager and ensure modular units meet approved construction documents, shop drawings, and applicable codes.

You will perform inspections across production, document nonconformances, support corrective actions, and maintain traceability of all quality records. Strong reading of blueprints and collaboration with multiple departments are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree, technical training, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, modular production, or quality inspection is preferred.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and inspection documentation is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant trade, quality, or technical certifications are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect modular units and materials throughout production to verify conformance with approved plans and quality standards.
  • Review blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and quality documentation for compliance.
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections and document results using quality forms or digital systems.
  • Identify nonconformances and communicate corrective actions to leadership for closure.
  • Maintain accurate quality records by unit serial number and ensure traceability.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, engineering, and other departments to support compliance and improvements.
  • Assist with training and communication of quality expectations as directed by the Quality Manager.

Job Summary

Ginosko Modular is seeking a detail-oriented and independent Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will report directly to the Quality Manager and assume responsibility for verifying that all modular units are manufactured in accordance with approved construction documents, shop drawings, applicable modular building codes, and our strict quality standards. The Quality Inspector performs inspections throughout the entire production cycle, documents nonconformances, supports corrective action and reinspection efforts, and helps ensure that no unit progresses or is released without required quality and compliance verification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Inspect modular units, assemblies, and materials throughout production to verify conformance with approved plans, shop drawings, applicable codes, and company quality standards.
  • Review blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and quality documentation to confirm that work is performed in accordance with approved construction requirements.
  • Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections; document inspection results accurately and completely using required Quality Control Forms, Travelers, or approved digital systems.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to Production Leadership and verify that corrective actions are completed before work is concealed, advanced, or released.
  • Exercise inspection authority independently from production operations and escale unresolved quality issues to the Quality Manager in accordance with established procedures.
  • Use standard measuring and inspection tools, including levels, framing squares, and other verification equipment, to confirm dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate quality records by unit serial number and support traceability, record retention, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate professionally with production, purchasing, engineering, and other departments to support compliance, timely corrective action, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with training, process clarification, and communication of quality expectations as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment practices while performing inspection duties.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Education & Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical training, or comparable experience in construction, manufacturing, quality, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in manufacturing, construction, modular production, quality inspection, or a similar environment preferred.
  • Blueprints: Experience interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation is strongly preferred.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Relevant trade, quality, or technical certifications are helpful but not required.
Skills & Competencies
  • Plan Reading: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of modular construction practices, inspection checkpoints, and applicable code requirements preferred.
  • Quality Execution: Ability to identify nonconformances, document findings clearly, and verify completion of corrective actions.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independence: Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise inspection authority objectively.
Digital Literacy & Systems
  • Office Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for inspection reporting, documentation, and correspondence.
  • Mobile Hardware: Ability to accurately complete and process digital Quality Control forms, Travelers, and inspection checklists using tablet, iPad, or desktop-based systems.
  • ERP Systems: Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, company recordkeeping and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) to maintain traceability and quality records.
  • Project Management: Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, task and schedule tracking platforms (e.g., ClickUp, Smartsheet) to document nonconformances and follow corrective actions to closure.
  • General Tech: Strong overall digital literacy, including email, file management, and navigating company software with minimal supervision.
