Job summary

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of aerospace or similar manufacturing inspection experience.
• Strong GD&T, blueprint interpretation and dimensional inspection knowledge.
• Ability to interpret operation sheets, purchase orders, specifications, and special process certifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, shop math proficiency, and attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate manufacturing methods and procedures for quality compliance.
• Solid verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to maintain complete and accurate inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect in-process and finished products through visual examinations and dimensional measurements to confirm specifications.
• Review PO's, operation sheets, blueprints and certifications to verify parts meet requirements.
• Perform complex dimensional layout inspections using operation sheets and drawings.
• Apply GD&T principles to evaluate part conformity.
• Complete Inspection Method Sheets and maintain inspection records.
• Verify special process certifications against part specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspections and FAIs.
• Identify nonconforming materials and communicate findings to relevant personnel.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address inspection issues and maintain product quality.

Job description

BestLogic Staffing is seeking a Quality Control Bench Inspector for a client in Portland, Connecticut, serving the aerospace industry. Pay Range is $24-29/hr

This position maintains quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. The inspector will verify compliance with engineering specifications, perform dimensional inspections, and accurately document inspection results.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect in-process and finished products through visual examinations and dimensional measurements to confirm compliance with specifications.
• Review purchase orders, operation sheets, blueprints, special process certifications, and other specifications to verify that parts and materials meet requirements.
• Perform complex dimensional layout inspections using operation sheets and engineering drawings.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformity.
• Complete Inspection Method Sheets and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Verify special process certifications against applicable part specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspections and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
• Identify and document nonconforming materials or components and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address inspection issues and maintain product quality.

Required Qualifications

• 2–8 years of inspection experience in aerospace or a similar manufacturing industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience completing aerospace First Article Inspection documentation.
• Familiarity with InspectionXpert and/or Net-Inspect.
