Job summary

Apera is seeking an experienced CMM Inspector for a hands-on, on-site 6 month contract with extensions to join a fast-moving aerospace manufacturing environment. You will own CMM programming, dimensional inspection and First Article documentation to support quality and programme delivery.

The role requires five years of CMM-related experience in aerospace, with ability to create and modify programs, read engineering drawings and maintain traceable inspection records.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of CMM programming, operation and dimensional inspection experience.
• Experience in aerospace, aviation, military or defence manufacturing.
• Ability to independently create and modify CMM programs.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings and precision measurement knowledge.
• FAA Form 8130-3 airworthiness documentation knowledge.
• Experience with FAA Part 145 Repair Station environments.

Responsibilities

• Create new CMM programs and operate equipment using established programs.
• Inspect aerospace components against drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and other metrology equipment.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, visual and final inspections.
• Prepare and review First Article Inspection packages.
• Maintain material lot integrity, product traceability and inspection records.
• Identify, document and communicate nonconforming products.
• Work with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to resolve inspection issues.

Are you an experienced CMM Inspector looking to apply your skills within a fast-moving aerospace manufacturing environment?

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on position where you will take ownership of CMM programming, dimensional inspection and First Article documentation. Your work will directly support manufacturing quality, product conformity and the successful delivery of complex aerospace projects.

What We’re Looking For

• At least five years of CMM programming, operation and dimensional inspection experience.
• Previous experience within aerospace, aviation, military or defence manufacturing.
• Ability to independently create and modify CMM programs.
• Strong engineering drawing and precision measurement knowledge.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges and similar inspection equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Machinist certificate or technical qualification.
• A&P certification.
• Experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station.

Additional Information
