The Quality Inspector is responsible for the performance of the material incoming inspection, line audit, and finished goods inspection. The Quality Inspector will also ensure the correct quality performance reports, that tools and equipment are safe to use. He/she will perform any other duty in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. The Inspector will perform a range of duties supporting Technicians and shift staff to ensure profitable business operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conducting regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards, drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Review EL image and make a pass/reject judgement. Check mechanical dimensions.
  3. Check final assembly for finish, labeling, electric output, and packaging methods.
  4. Conduct cosmetic, labeling, and functional inspections of finished goods and raw materials.
  5. Monitor and respond to daily inspection activities, maintaining accurate quality records in the computer system.
  6. Communicate results and issues to staff, and communicate with other departments such as Production and Maintenance to take immediate containment actions.
  7. Assist in troubleshooting issues related to machines, materials, processes, and operators.
  8. Ensure compliance with product quality and standards, follow work instructions and procedures, and ensure production meets schedules and delivery requirements.
  9. Use and maintain quality control equipment and tools, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
  10. Comply with team goals and objectives and foster positive staff relationships.
  11. Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct.
  12. Support ISO 9001 activities and customer onsite inspection/audit.
  13. Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety rules and policies.
  14. Conduct other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Able to take continental shift.
  3. Previous working experience in quality control or a related position within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  4. Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and inspection methodologies; ability to read drawings and specifications preferred.
  5. Ability to use measurement tools and testing equipment.
  6. Existing knowledge of ISO9001 standards, attention to quality and detail preferred.
  7. Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  8. Computer literacy; experience with enterprise ERP systems or other software and e-mail would be an asset.
