Trueline's client, an established and rapidly growing metal fabrication company, is seeking a Quality Inspector to join its on-site team east of Dallas, Texas. The Quality Inspector will evaluate fabricated components throughout production and during final inspection, helping ensure that dimensions, welds, workmanship, and documentation meet customer requirements.
What You'll Do as the Quality Inspector:
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Inspect fabricated parts, weldments, and assemblies at different stages of production.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, hole locations, angles, and other drawing requirements.
- Evaluate weld appearance and workmanship for visible quality concerns.
- Perform final quality inspections before products are approved for shipment.
- Use appropriate measuring and inspection tools to confirm part accuracy.
- Document inspection results and communicate nonconforming conditions.
- Work with production employees to resolve quality concerns.
- Help prevent defective or incomplete work from moving to the next operation.
- Confirm that required inspection and production records are complete.
- Support corrective actions and root-cause reviews when needed.
- Maintain organized inspection tools, records, and work areas.
Must-Haves as the Quality Inspector:
- Experience inspecting metal fabrication, welding, machining, sheet metal, or related industrial products.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to accurately check dimensions and tolerances.
- Working knowledge of common measuring tools.
- General understanding of welding and fabricated metal quality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly document and communicate quality concerns.
- Confidence working directly with production employees and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and make sound inspection decisions.
- Ability to work on-site east of Dallas, Texas.
Nice-to-Haves as the Quality Inspector:
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, height gauges, weld gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Experience inspecting structural steel, sheet metal, plate, weldments, or industrial assemblies.
- Familiarity with AWS welding requirements.
- Certified Welding Inspector credentials or welding inspection training.
- Experience in an ISO 9001, AS9100, AISC, or other quality-controlled environment.
- Experience writing nonconformance reports or supporting corrective actions.
- Familiarity with first-article, in-process, and final inspection documentation.
- Experience with coatings, surface finish, or dimensional-layout inspection.
