Job summary

Belcan is seeking a qualified Quality/Inspection professional to monitor supplier and internal product quality and to resolve issues impacting part availability for manufacturing operations. You will work with suppliers, review inspections and PPAPs, and help contain or resolve nonconforming parts as part of continuous improvement.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience with inspection methods and ANSI Y 14.5 standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or higher required or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in or with Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve day-to-day problems/discrepancies with supplier/internal products to enable Manufacturing Operations.
  • Evaluate problems related to products or paperwork.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues for product availability.
  • Support nonconforming parts process and containment on receipt or in process.
  • Assist in validating supplier/internal corrective actions.
  • Coordinate activities between external and internal functions to ensure premier customer service.
  • Review Supplier/internal First Article Inspections, PPAPs and other quality documentation.
  • Coordinate activities related to customer returned goods.

Job description

With guidance/direction from Quality Team Leadership, this role supports factory operations by monitoring inbound supplier products and/or in-process Parker products for delays caused by nonconformances, documentation gaps, shipping issues, or other disruptions, and by taking appropriate action to resolve issues affecting part availability. Resolution activities may include escalation to the appropriate business function when needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Managing and resolving day-to-day problems/discrepancies that occur with supplier products and/or internal products to make the products available to Manufacturing Operations.
  • This may include evaluating problems related to products or paperwork.
  • Demonstrating business acumen in communicating with suppliers directly to solve issues to make product available to Manufacturing Operations.
  • Support nonconforming parts process and assist with containment of product upon receipt or in process.
  • Assist in validating supplier and/or internal corrective actions.
  • Serves as a liaison between external and internal business functions as necessary to ensure premier customer service to drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Reviewing Supplier and/or internal First Article Inspections, PPAPs and other quality documentation.
  • Helps coordinate activities internally and/or externally related to customer returned goods
Education:
  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Experience working in or with Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing disciplines.
Experience:
  • 2-3 years of related inspection or supplier experience (Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, aerospace manufacturing preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience in inspection methods and the use of inspection tools to evaluate parts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective use of Microsoft software tools for communication.
  • Must possess the ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate the values of customer satisfaction, integrity, continuous improvement and adherence to standards, aiming to ensure consistently high-quality products and services.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding complex blueprints, route sheets, test specifications, customer specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
  • Possess working knowledge of shop mathematics including trigonometry.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Visual inspection skills required including the ability to distinguish between colors and pass a visual acuity test (which includes far vision, near vision and color perception).
  • Preferred experience with measurement equipment and background in dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y 14.5.
  • Knowledge of applicable military standards or specifications as required.
