Job summary

Apollo American, an AS9100-certified aerospace and defense precision machining company in Mentor, Ohio, is hiring a QC Inspector – CMM/FAI. The role focuses on first article inspections, final and in-process checks, and documentation.

You’ll operate a CMM under supervision, read GD&T, and ensure conformance with AS9100 quality systems while collaborating with machinists and production teams. U.S. person per ITAR is required.

What You’ll Do

• Perform first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102 and complete the FAI documentation
• Perform final inspection on machined parts before shipment
• Perform in process inspection on the floor
• Operate a CMM (programming not required) under supervision of CMM Manager
• Inspect parts with hand tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, pin gauges, air gauges
• Create Certificates of Conformance (C of C)
• Work in compliance with AS9100 quality systems requirements
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Document inspection results and nonconforming material accurately
• Work with machinists and production to catch issues early
• Support internal, customer, and registrar audits

What You Need

• Quality inspection experience in an AS9100 manufacturing environment (required)
• Hands-on FAI experience, including AS9102 paperwork
• Experience operating a CMM
• Solid blueprint reading and GD&T skills
• Machining or machine-shop experience preferredDetail-oriented, with clean and accurate recordkeeping
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR
