Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a direct quality role.
• Experience in manufacturing or warehousing environments preferred.
• Experience with electro/mechanical hardware/fasteners preferred.
• OSHA10 preferred.
• Process auditing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections.
• Review, prepare, and submit accurate quality documentation (MTRs, CoCs, FAIs, ISIRs, PPAPs).
• Work with customer and Thruway’s supply chain to handle quality issues and customer complaints.
• Complete 8D reports (corrective & preventative actions) as required.
• Maintain calibration and reference measuring equipment; update calibration log.
• Assist with training on quality manuals, procedures, and safety processes.
• Assist with ISO9001 & AS9120 audits.
• Perform monthly safety inspections.
• Assist with warehouse functions as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This individual is responsible for conducting the required inspections to ensure technical alignment of products to customer drawings and customer and industry specifications. This individual also strives to continually improve company quality performance and customer satisfaction. This individual has responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

• Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections.
• Review, prepare, and submit accurate quality documentation (e.g., MTRs, CoCs, FAIs, ISIRs, PPAPs).
• Work with the customer and/or Thruway’s supply chain to handle quality issues and customer complaints.
• Complete internal and external 8D's (corrective & preventative actions) as required, without un-due delay.
• Maintain calibrated and reference only measuring equipment. Coordinate the calibration and verification of the equipment and maintain accuracy of Thruway's Calibration Log.
• Support new hire and ongoing training with employees on the Thruway quality manual, procedures, work instructions, and safety processes.
• Assist management in preparing for and undergoing internal, customer, and external ISO9001 & AS9120 audits.
• Perform monthly safety inspections.
• Assist with warehouse functions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Documented Experience (2+ years) in a direct quality role preferred
• Experience in manufacturing or warehousing environments preferred
• Experience with Electro/Mechanical hardware/fasteners preferred
• OSHA10 preferred
• Process auditing experience preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

TRAVEL:

Most of the time will be spent onsite at the Thruway distribution facility. Occasional travel to other Thruway facilities (NY, PA, GA) or customer locations may be required.
