Job summary

Verify, Inc. seeks a Source Inspector to travel to supplier facilities in the Bedford, IL and Chicago, IL areas to perform visual and dimensional inspections on parts and sub-assemblies.

You will verify conformance to drawings, POs, and industry standards, and report results via a web application. The role requires 5+ years in aerospace/defense inspection, proficiency with GD&T and IPC-620, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of aerospace/defense inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting mechanical and electronic components/assemblies.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and purchase orders.
• Knowledge of AS9100 standards and FAI AS9102 requirements.

Job Description:

• The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
• Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.
• The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements:

• Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on both mechanical commodities (GD&T ANSI / ASME y 14.5) as well as electronic commodities such as wires, harnesses and cables to IPC-620 standard of inspection.
• The inspections will be performed to engineering and customer requirements, or per AS9100 (QMS) Standard.
• Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required.
• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
