Job summary

Tryson Metal Stampings & Manufacturing in Addison, IL, is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform dimensional and visual analysis of production parts to ensure quality standards are met. The role uses precision measurement tools to verify tolerances and collect data for SPC systems.

You will maintain tolerances on production runs, document results, and communicate issues to supervision while following safety, quality policies, and PPE requirements in a shop environment.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and data entry experience is required.
• Experience with SPC systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards is helpful but not required.
• This job takes place in a shop environment with moderate to loud machine noise and seasonal temperatures.
• Leather work shoes or appropriate PPE is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains tolerances for production runs and inspects products for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Records tolerances from inspection sheets and data into SPC systems.
• Maintains inspection table and prioritizes parts to ensure presses run efficiently.
• Reports quality issues to supervisor and follows company policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Salary Range: $18 - $20 per hour based on qualifications and experience

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM CT; This role may be required to work overtime.

Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional and visual analysis of production parts to ensure quality standards have been met.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintains tolerances for production runs, conducting inspection of product for dimensional accuracy and quality assurance, such as noting visual defects and damage. Utilizes measurement equipment (e.g. micrometer, coordinate-measuring machine (CMM), digital drop indicator, caliper, optical comparator, bore-press-fit load tester) to perform dimensional and other quality control analysis of production product.
• Enters tolerances form inspection sheets and other data into SPC (Statistical Process Control) systems. Organizes and manages the collection and filing of quality control data.
• Maintains inspection table and prioritizes new parts to ensure presses run consistently and efficiently.
• Reports quality issues as they arise to supervisor.
• Follows proper safety, quality, and other company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints is preferred.

Education and Experience:

• Basic computer and data entry experience is required. Experience with SPC systems is preferred.
• Experience utilizing measurement equipment (e.g. micrometer, coordinate-measuring machine (CMM), digital drop indicator, caliper, optical comparator, bore-press-fit load tester) is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards is helpful but not required.
• This job takes place within a shop environment which includes exposure to moderate to loud machine noise, vibrations, and fluctuating seasonal temperatures.
• Leather work shoes or appropriate PPE is required.

Physical Requirements:

• This role requires the capability to perform activities such as standing and walking for long periods of time.
