Job summary

Cartamundi, a world leader in playing cards, seeks a Quality Inspection Technician for the 3rd shift in Erlanger, KY. You will inspect products, document quality status, and collaborate with operators to ensure adherence to specifications.

Ideal candidates have prior quality inspection experience, a high school diploma or better, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP. The role requires flexibility for overtime and the ability to work in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Quality Inspection and Quality Assurance experience.
• High School or higher.
• Experience in a process improvement environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess product quality against customer and process specs using lab measurement devices.
• Inspect, measure, test products and disposition nonconforming items with supervision.
• Communicate quality status to Lead Operators.
• Report nonconforming product and Holds to Supervisors.
• Conduct audits and review quality records.
• Isolate product in sheet form and conduct stock block transactions in SAP.
• Perform SAP transactions for incoming and outgoing inventory.
• Maintain inventory accuracy.
• Identify process control and corrective action needs and coordinate labor.
• Communicate assignments to Quality staff and manage rework.
• Additional duties as needed.

3rd Shift Hours: Sunday to Thursday (10:45 PM - 06:45 AM)

The Quality Technician - will be responsible for:

What you’ll do as a Quality Technician:

• Assess product quality – Strips, printed sheets, decks, components (tuck cases) against defined customer requirements, process specifications, and performance standards
• Inspect, measure, and test product. Utilize Lab measurement devices to access product acceptability based on process control limits. Disposition product, in conjunction with appropriate Pressman, Process Supervisor or Department Manager.
• Communicate the current quality status of the production process through the Lead Operators.
• Report nonconforming product. Communicate all Holds and potential process failures to Lead Operators, Supervisors and Management.
• Conduct product and process audits according to published schedule. Audit quality records (to include followers and documents that effect product quality). Assess process results against requirements, specifications, and standards.
• Ability to isolate product in sheet form and conduct stock block transactions in SAP.
• SAP transactions both incoming and outgoing.
• Inventory control / accuracy.
• Identify process control, control of nonconformity of product, and corrective action requirement to the Lead Operators.
• Communicate assignments to Quality personnel and manage rework labor according to most urgent need and make recommendations concerning labor utilization.
• Additional responsibilities as required.

We’re looking for a Quality Technician with:

• Teamwork – Communicate / Review shift duties with Quality Technician and/or Quality Management
• Ability to be flexible and able to quickly transition from one task to another when needed.
• Ability to be flexible with overtime to cover employees up to 12 hour shifts.
• 20/20 corrected vision
• Keen attention to written instructions
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operation

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Previous Quality Inspection and Quality Assurance
• High School and above
• Work related experience in a process improvement environment preferred.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

• Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues
• Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead
• Perform sedentary work on various computer systems
• ThisQuality Technician- Floaterposition is located on-site in our Erlanger facility
