Quality Improvement Lead - East Hospital

The Quality Improvement Lead develops and executes strategic quality plans in designated areas to enhance clinical care and contribute to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s reputation for world-class quality and care.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize clinical quality improvement gaps/opportunities using comparative internal and external benchmarking.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary process improvement initiatives and implement target-based action plans.
• Monitor the effectiveness of change management and improvement strategies; revise as needed to achieve clinical goals and outcomes.
• Facilitate data collection, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination of performance reports.
• Leverage evidence-based best practices to inform service line action plans.
• Coordinate communication among key collaborators and stakeholders; provide education on data analysis and improvement opportunities.
• Develop large-scope, precedent-setting processes and clinical performance improvement mechanisms to advance quality outcomes.

Position Summary

The Quality Improvement Lead reports to the Associate Director of Quality Program Coordination, with guidance from the Quality department Senior Director, Directors, and Associate Directors. The role develops and executes multifaceted, service line- and area-specific strategies for clinical quality improvement and program monitoring, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and rigorous assessment of performance toward quality metrics. It involves leading gap-closure strategies in collaboration with clinical leadership and promoting continuous improvement across designated areas.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a clinical field. Clinical licensure.
• 2 years of relevant experience required; 4–6 years of healthcare quality management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices related to high-quality and safe health care.
• Project management experience and use of quality tools (e.g., DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, PDSA).
• Proven track record of delivering results with complex and dynamic teams.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems.
