Job summary

Primoris Pipeline seeks a Quality Field Tech to ensure quality and integrity of field construction projects by verifying adherence to specifications, plans and industry standards. You will perform inspections, document findings, and collaborate with project teams to resolve quality-related issues in a dynamic field environment.

The role requires reading blueprints, using inspection tools, and effective communication to report deviations and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of quality control/assurance experience in construction, preferably civil/pipeline/heavy industrial.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specs and industry standards (ASME, API, AWS, ASTM).
• Ability to read blueprints and technical docs accurately.
• Proficiency with inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers and gauges.
• Excellent written and verbal reporting skills; detail-oriented and observant.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control documentation and records.

• Verify proper installation and functionality of various systems and components.


• Participate in pre-construction meetings to understand project quality requirements and potential challenges.


• Support the quality management system by adhering to established procedures and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.


• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times while performing duties in the field.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the construction industry, preferably in civil, pipeline, or heavy industrial sectors.


• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS, ASTM).


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents accurately.


• Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment (e.g., tape measures, calipers, gauges).


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting.


• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work independently in a field environment and as part of a team.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).


• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required, as travel to various job sites is essential.


• Relevant certifications (e.g., CWI, NACE, ACI) are a significant plus.
