Job summary

Fuse is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join our San Diego team, supporting the Quality Management System and production with reliable reports and process improvements. This role requires a nimble self-starter attitude and collaboration across departments to improve product quality.

You will verify material against drawings, participate in MRB, perform first article inspections, develop inspection reports, and assist in audits such as AS9100. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience as an Inspector or Quality Technician preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical information including GD&T.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming and in-process material and products against drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate MRB activities including data input, reporting and material disposition.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through production and inspection.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements and AS9100 audits.
  • Perform first article inspections and develop/maintain inspection reports.
  • Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
  • Collate test and inspection data for quality reporting.

Fuse is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Quality Engineering Technician to join our energetic and growing team! This is an opportunity to work closely with Quality Management providing reliable reports and process improvement recommendations to monitor and improve overall product quality. In this role, you will support the company's full business quality management system and production team. Fuse is an innovative, design-driven environment that delivers elegant engineering solutions. What you'll do:
  • Verify incoming and in-process material and products are in compliance with Fuse's drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities including data input, reporting and material disposition
  • Identify potential continuous improvement opportunities through production and inspection
  • Assist in the implementation process improvements
  • Perform first article inspections
  • Develop and maintain production inspection reports
  • Ensure that production is not hindered by quality testing procedures
  • Support continuous improvement the Quality Management System
  • Assist in AS9100 audits
  • Report quality issues and anomalies to appropriate managers
  • Collate test and inspection data to facilitate quality reporting
We are looking for:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience as an Inspector or Quality Technician
  • Solid judgment to proactively identify and solve complex problems
  • Hands on experience with reading engineering drawings and interpreting technical information to include GD&T tolerancing
  • Experience with collecting data for generating quality reports
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in changing situations
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across departments and with supervisors and managers

Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $58,000 - $65,000
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Employee coverage is fully funded; a portion of dependents' coverage is funded as well

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) Date of hire through second year: 10 days/year (accrued)
