Job summary

Reading Truck is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets on the production floor. You will oversee the inspection process, help develop quality standards, perform audits, and contribute to the Quality Management System to ensure Reading’s products meet customer requirements.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical/quality background, SPC experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; 5+ years quality/control experience in automotive manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Hands-on experience with supplier quality and lean manufacturing principles preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and address safety/environmental risks promptly.
• Train and audit QC inspectors on quality standards and inspection.
• Direct and supervise personnel responsible for measurement, inspection, and testing.
• Develop and implement Quality Management System processes for the quality team.
• Analyze statistical data and specifications to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Lead in-process quality audits and coordinate root-cause analysis (8D) for corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement activities and customer issue resolutions.
• Ensure final inspection aligns with customer requirements and engineering drawings.
