Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure customer satisfaction by establishing procedures and monitoring process capabilities.

The role leads continuous improvement, manages customer complaints, SPC analysis, and site qualifications, with a focus on preventing defects and ensuring timely, accurate product shipments. Qualifications

• Requires an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 1–3 years’ manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of GMP, Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles.
• Ability to interpret SPC charts (histograms, Pareto, X-MR, X-Bar/R).
• Capable of leading cross-functional root-cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Establish procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and monitor process capability.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and quantify defect reductions.
• Coordinate customer complaint handling and SPC initiatives.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and training material.
• Report and prevent food safety or quality issues via proper actions.
• Interface with customers to qualify new materials and address quality concerns.
