Job summary

W.E. Hoban Company seeks a qualified quality engineering professional to program and operate part inspection systems for precision parts.

You will develop automated measurement routines, macros, and reporting functions within metrology software platforms, and analyze data to generate PPAP and internal verification reports. You will collaborate with quality engineers to troubleshoot and optimize inspection programs, support GD&T based inspection plans, and evaluate new measurement technologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with quality inspection systems and metrology software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate part inspection systems for precision part inspection.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of inspection programs, revisions, and outputs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on dimensional verification processes.
  • Train technicians and team members on scanning procedures, programming best practices, and software use.
  • Support internal and external audits with relevant inspection data.

Job description

Job Requirements

Other Experience and Qualifications

Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems preferred.

Education and Experience: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or a related field. Minimum of 25 years of experience in a quality engineering or dimensional inspection role. Hands-on experience with part inspection, 3D scanning, or related measurement programming.

Required. Experience Supporting PPAP Or Customer Dimensional Submissions is a plus.
